2025 Sea Isle City Polar Bear Plunge
Sea Isle City, NJ – The much-anticipated Polar Bear Plunge is set to make a splash during Presidents Day Weekend, February 14-16, 2025.
This annual event draws thousands of enthusiasts ready to brave the icy Atlantic waters, embodying the town's spirited community and commitment to charitable causes.
Event Highlights:
Dates: February 14-16, 2025
Main Plunge: Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM
Location: JFK Boulevard and the Beach, Sea Isle City, NJ
Registration: Participants aged 12 and older can register online at LaCosta-SeaIsle.com. A $25 non-refundable entry fee includes a Polar Bear T-shirt and entry wristband. To be eligible for the costume contest, registration is required.
Weekend Festivities:
Friday, February 14:
Polar Bear King & Queen Contest: 9:00 PM at LaCosta, 4000 Landis Ave.
Saturday, February 15:
Costume Contest: 12:00 PM at LaCosta. Participants must be registered for the plunge to compete.
Polar Bear Plunge: 2:00 PM at JFK Boulevard and the Beach. Participants will dash into the chilly ocean, many donning creative costumes.
Post-Plunge Party: 2:30 PM at LaCosta, featuring live entertainment from bands such as Split Decision, The Insiders, Blackthorn, Gypsy Wisdom, The Rockets, and FunZaLuv. Registered plungers receive complimentary entry.
Sunday, February 16:
Mike’s Seafood Polar Bear Run/Walk for Autism:
Registration: 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM outside The Coast Motel, Landis Avenue between JFK Boulevard and 40th Street. Online registration is available at PolarBearRunWalkForAutism.com.
Run/Walk Start: 12:00 PM at JFK Boulevard and the Promenade. Proceeds benefit Autism Speaks, Special Services Schools, autism support groups, and families of special needs children.
Post-Event Activities: A buffet, live music, awards ceremony, door prizes, magicians, and face painting for children inside heated tents outside The Coast Motel.
Community Impact:
The Polar Bear Plunge has become a hallmark of Sea Isle City's winter festivities, attracting 20,000 to 25,000 visitors annually. Beyond the thrill of the plunge, the weekend emphasizes philanthropy, with events like Mike’s Seafood Run/Walk for Autism raising over $1 million to date for autism-related causes.
