Anniversary of the Miracle on the Hudson

On January 15, 2009, US Airways Flight 1549 made an emergency landing on the Hudson River after striking a flock of geese shortly after takeoff. Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger and First Officer Jeffrey Skiles successfully ditched the aircraft, and all 155 passengers and crew survived. This event, known as the "Miracle on the Hudson," is celebrated for the crew's skill and the successful rescue operations that followed.
